Nottinghamshire Flutterings on 1st July 2016: Silver-washed Fritillary and Essex Skipper.

Two new species on the wing this week.

Silver-washed Fritillary – the first 2016 record (a singleton) comes from Lorna Griffiths on 25th June at Eaton Wood.

Essex Skipper – the first record was of five on 30/06/16 seen by Bill Bacon on his Radcliffe Wood Transect

That brings us up to 28 species this year. Hopefully six to go so reaching the expected 34 species in Notts.
