On May 30th Chris Cooper was lucky to see two (most likely a pair) of Wall Brown on the Grantham Canal to the west of Cropwell Bishop. I had a look the following day but ‘dipped’ but the habit does look good so maybe, just maybe ……

Grizzled Skipper Christopher Jackson reports “so far we have received 120 positive records of this species from its known range in Nottinghamshire, with records sent in by 29 different recorders.” Nick Crouch has found a new colony at Hawton Works Grassland which is probably the most northerly natural colony in England.

Painted Lady singles seen today by Nick Crouch at Collingham and Brian Parkes at Toton. Watch out for these and for Clouded Yellow.
